Privacy Policy for AirChord

AirChord LLC ("we", "us", or "our") provides a private audio streaming application and web platform ("AirChord") that allows users to digitize and stream their own physical media exclusively for their own personal use. Streams are private and can only be accessed by the account that created them. These services are collectively referred to in this policy as the "Service". We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how your data is used.

1. Information We Collect

We collect limited information to operate and improve the Service:

• Anonymous User Identifier – a unique, anonymous identifier provided by Sign in with Apple, used to associate streams with your account and maintain your session. This identifier contains no personal information and cannot be used to identify you outside of AirChord.
• IP Address – logged automatically and used for technical troubleshooting, analytics, inferring general location, and preventing abuse.

We do not collect:

• Your name
• Your email address
• Contact list
• Exact GPS location

We do not use advertising identifiers or behavioral tracking.

2. Audio Input and Streaming

AirChord requests access to your device’s microphone to enable audio capture. This system permission is required in order to accept input from external audio sources (e.g., line-in interfaces or adapters). While the app is technically capable of recording from the device’s internal microphone, the intended use is to capture audio from an external input source that you provide.

We use microphone access in order to:

• Stream audio from physical media that you own (preferably via an external audio input)
• Identify songs using the ShazamKit API, which performs audio fingerprinting

Shazam Integration

• Audio snippets are processed on-device by Apple’s ShazamKit API.
• We do not retain or store audio fingerprint data.
• No personal information is shared with Apple or Shazam as part of this process.

3. Data Retention

• We store anonymous user identifiers and IP addresses for a limited time to support functionality and prevent abuse.
• Data associated with your user identifier is retained until you delete it through the app.
• Metadata (e.g. stream title, start time) may be stored to support playback and stream management.

4. Your Rights and Choices

You can delete your data at any time through the app. If you need assistance with data deletion, you may contact:

5. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect the integrity of our servers and services, including secure transmission and storage of user data.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The effective date will always be posted at the top of this page. Continued use of AirChord after changes are made constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
